After todays brilliant lesson and discussing the 7 pleats of the hakama representing the 7 virtues of the samurai. Can anyone elaborate on these 7 points? I would appreciate it greatly!

They represent the 7 tenets of Bushido, though the exact English translation of the Japanese terms vary depending on who you talk to (as a quick Google will show lol) they are typically Rectitude (correct judgement: of when to strike, act, die etc) Courage (when righteous) Benevolence (love, sympathy, compassion) Respect Honesty (sincerity, veracity, truthfulness) Honour Loyalty

The 7 pleats (5 on the front and 2 on the back) traditionally represent:
Yuki (courage, valor) Jin (humanity, benevolence) Gi (justice, righteousness) Rei (courtesy, civility) Makoto (sincerity, honesty) Chugi (loyalty) Meiyo (honor, dignity).
There are several modern variations on the virtues represented by the seven pleats.
