I've decided to put a post on every time we have a course either "locally" (i.e. AvonBega Course) or "nationally" (i.e. BTAF/ITAF course). We can use this post to discuss the course and develop issues and answer questions etc.
This first course will be a strict split between Tai-jutsu and weapons and some elements of overlap. Looking at Base Form but quickly progressing to cover grading requirements up to 2nd Kyu.
Going to introduce some more progressive Aiki-ken beyond the method.
Class Saturday morning, afternoon and evening. Sunday morning - about 8 hours of training.
Meal at Dunton Bassett Arms Saturday Night for Chinese.

First session finished. Training centres around atemi-waza and some Aiki-Ken around the 5 Ken no kamae positions.
Looked at initial atemi when dealing with an opponent who is trained to deliver multiple hits/ combinations (I.e a boxer). Correct Ma-ai is essential here and the need to knock out the delivery system rather than the blow(s) itself. Atemi and irimi to destroy posture And execute a finish.

Well thank you all for helping me this weekend and pointing me in the right direction. I enjoyed it. Sorry I couldn't get to the session today. Hope to see you all soon.

I was really impressed by everyone's training. Everyone has received feedback on how they trained and how they can improve etc and I think everyone gained insight into their Aikido.
We covered a whole spectrum of Aiki primarily to enable Paul and I to see where you are in your training.
Emphasis on dynamic movement without losing power in the hips and the need to maximise your power through your posture/stance.

Thank you for today Sensei,
Training was extremely beneficial (as always) and I now know where I should be focusing my attention in order to progress.
